In a first for South Africa, Volvo Cars Pietermaritzburg has re-launched with a studio-style dealership offering clients an exclusive premium luxury experience.
With the dealership officially opening its doors in May 2023 at Absa House, 15 Chatterton Road, it features Scandinavian design, exuding clean and refined finishes with a space that people want to return to each time regardless of whether they are servicing their vehicle or looking for a venue to catch up on emails between meetings. Vaughn Marescia, Director at FMGH Motor Holdings, says the idea stemmed from his desire to create a space for people to relax and feel comfortable.
“This is where tradition meets studio design. Our vision was to create a space where people coming in are going to feel comfortable. Even if they are not necessarily looking to purchase a vehicle, this will be a space they want to be in. Our strategy is to become fully electric by 2030 and change the future of mobility and ownership – with a strong emphasis on growth and sustainability. We are constantly striving to be creative and have a very distinct line of products. We have always offered unmatched safety, however we would like to build on this legacy by continuing to be innovative and elegant.”
Marescia explained that the concept is a hybrid of studio in that there is a workshop, reception and meet and greet area but this marries the concepts of dealership meets studio design.
